Volatile balm is a kinetic installation where lightness and delicacy combine with the consoling power of a balm. Grasses, isolated petals, herbs and flowers turn gently on themselves, making the instability of plant odors, such as ailments that appear and disappear when rubbed with ointment, almost tangible. The reproduction of the original manuscript used to manufacture the Baume Saint-Antoine sits enthroned and struts among the fragile plants and flowers composing a dance, an exhilarating farandole … everything seems to be suspended.
